Double Glazed Windows
At M Powell Windows, we custom-build your new windows using only the highest quality materials in our state-of-the-art factory near Bristol. Tailored to your specific requirements, we don’t think you should compromise on the windows you want and we ensure that they are a stylish and practical addition to your home.
Manufactured with the latest technology, our expert engineers ensure our windows are created using A+ rated glass only. Whether you choose double or triple glazing, you can rest assured your new windows will be at the forefront of innovation in our industry.
We use modern PVCu that is far more advanced than the same material used in the 80s. Built to last, PVCu is a good solution if you’re looking for good value for money when considering upgrading your home. PVCu will help reduce your household bills due to its insulative qualities as well as adding a touch of class to your property. If you would like to step away from traditional white windows, our PVCu is also available in a wide range of colours and wood finishes. Alternatively, check out our aluminium windows that are becoming increasingly popular with our customers due to their slimline features and durability.

What type of window frame is best?
It depends on a number of factors! When choosing what window solution is best for you, it’s important to consider your budget, your property type and what you’re looking for in both style and function. If you’re looking to not break the bank, then UPVC is our most cost-effective option as they’re highly energy efficient and come in an impressive range of colours and finishes. Aluminium would add a touch of elegance to your home and is incredibly durable, but you’ll have to dig a little deeper into your wallet to get them installed.

Can I expect energy savings with my new windows?
Absolutely! You will be able to notice the difference even more if you’re upgrading single glazed windows or replacing windows that are old and draughty. These will be highly inefficient in comparison to your new double or triple glazing, which will help to decrease the amount you spend on your household bills by trapping your warm air in and keeping the cold air out.
Can I match the design of my windows to my house style?
At M Powell, we are aware that everyone’s dream home is unique. Whether you want to stick to convention or are looking to stamp your own personality on your property, we offer an impressive variety of styles, colours and finishes for you to choose from. Your windows are an integral part of your home and help to enhance their aesthetic, as they’re amongst the first things people see when they come to visit!
Our standard uPVC windows are available in a variety of wood finishes or if you’re feeling unconventional, then choose bright cherry red or sage green from our premium range. If you have something in mind or are struggling to choose the right home improvement for you, get in contact with one of our experts today so we can help you make the perfect choice.
What type of glazing should I get?
Similar to most window companies, we offer double glazing as standard. However, not all double glazing is created the same way. Our team of engineers have established that a 28mm unit with a 20mm gap between the panes is the most energy efficient design out there. Single glazing is incredibly inefficient and causes condensation so is rarely installed in new properties.
If you are looking to reduce your energy bills even further, or perhaps you live in a colder area or on a busy street, then get in contact with a member of our team to find out more about our triple glazing. With three panes of glass and two gaps, these are the best thermally efficient windows on the market.
What is the warranty for windows at Britannia?
All our windows come with a 10 year guarantee, subject to our terms and conditions. Please get in contact to find out more details.
At M Powell, quality is an obsession. Installed by our expert engineers, we ensure that your windows are of the highest standard. The guarantee may last for 10 years, but with the proper upkeep, the majority of your windows will last a lot longer. When we install your new windows, we won’t leave the property until you understand how best to maintain them depending on where the windows are and the area you live in.
Customer satisfaction is a top priority, so if you have any doubts or concerns about your windows please don’t hesitate to get in touch with a member of our team today.
Do I really need new windows?
Unfortunately, windows won’t last forever. Rather than waiting for a fixed time period, it’s advised to check your windows now and again to ensure they’re performing as they should. If you’re unsure on whether it’s time for an upgrade, there are some tell tale signs to look out for:
- Your windows are difficult to open or close
- There is condensation between the two glass panes
- You can see visible degradation of your window frame
- Your inner window pane feels noticeably cold to the touch
If the answer is ‘yes’ to most of these questions, then it may be time for an upgrade.
