Gable Conservatories

  • Our gable end conservatories are a stunning way of adding some extra living space to your dream home, for the whole family to enjoy all year round.

Defined by its unique roof design, the gable end conservatory is both stylish and practical. It’s high vaulted roof capitalises on light and space. It enhances the surrounding natural light which creates a spacious atmosphere and an open-plan feel to your room. Effortlessly beautiful, if you’re looking to set your home apart from your neighbours then installing our unique gable conservatory is the perfect solution.

A conservatory with a little more personality and charm, the gable end design has a distinctive glass roof section at the front which you can make plain or craft your own design. Without the style restrictions of a Victorian conservatory or Edwardian conservatory, you have the creative freedom to choose from a number of different shapes and styles, so you can pick the best fit for you and your home.

Our gable end conservatories are also ideal for blinds, meaning if the hot summer sun gests a bit too much, you can maintain an ambient temperature in your new multifunctional living space.

  • With a gable-end conservatory, the front of the roof doesn’t slope back to the centre. Instead, the front of the conservatory stays upright, like the end of a house – this is often called a sunburst effect. This is where the gable-end conservatory style gets its name from. A gable-end conservatory is square or rectangular in shape, providing you maximum space and light.

What is a Gable conservatory?

A gable – or gable-end – conservatory is a classic and timeless design that is certainly eye-catching. Rather than having a roof that slopes back towards the house, the front of the conservatory is completely upright and forms a triangle. This vaulted roof design has two pitches that slope down on either side of the centre frame, creating an interior room that feels very spacious. Maximising the amount of light streaming into your home, the front part of the conservatory is what gives it its name. Let your creativity flow and choose from a number of different designs for the extra space at the front; a sunburst is a classic look but the choice is yours!

Are Gable conservatories energy efficient?

Similar to other conservatory designs, gable end conservatories can be extremely energy-efficient when they’re manufactured using high quality materials. At M Powell, we want you and your household to enjoy your new multifunctional living space in every season, no matter what the weather. We do this by using high quality materials, superior glazing and offering other options that will increase your home’s insulation. For example, we can install dwarf walls or a tiled roof which would help keep the cold temperatures outside and the warm air inside your home, while still ensuring you get as much natural light as possible.

Why choose a Gable conservatory?

A gable end conservatory has a number of benefits and is a great investment. Adding value to your home for years to come, our gable end conservatories are a great way to add extra space to your property. Due to its square or rectangular shape, it is great for maximising the square footage of your home and making it easier to furnish. Popular in the Georgian period, gable conservatories are a great choice if you would like to accentuate the period features in your house, or to give a stately feel to your garden and home. If you would like to find out more, visit our Weston-Super-Mare showroom or get in contact with an advisor today for a free, no-obligation quote.

Are Gable conservatories secure?

At M Powell, all our products meet the high standards of the UK Police-led initiative, that aims to reduce the amount of burglaries through innovative design and improved security. Your safety is our top priority and all conservatory glass – both windows and doors – are toughed to make it extremely difficult for an unwanted intruder to break in. We also use high-spec locking mechanisms on all our doors, to ensure you and your family are kept safe and secure all year round. We do advise, however, that you remove any electricals or flashy belongings out of sight when you leave the house, just to be extra safe.
