What is an Edwardian conservatory?

Also known as a Georgian conservatory, the Edwardian conservatory is a classic and traditional design that balances both style and practicality. Featuring a flat front and a square or rectangular shape with a high-pitched roof, Edwardian conservatories’ vaulted ceiling design creates a feeling of space and allows the sunlight to filter through into your room from different angles. Creating a serene and bright atmosphere, its rectangular shape means that you can get the largest amount of square footage possible, so don’t be afraid to dream big! Perfect for the whole family to enjoy all year round, get in touch with us today or visit our showroom in Weston-Super-Mare to see for yourself!

What is the difference between a Victorian and an Edwardian Conservatory?

Both have similar benefits and will make a perfect addition to your home! They both have pitched roofs, so you’re able to maximise on space, and ornate detailing. They complement any home, period and contemporary properties alike. The main difference between the two designs is that the Victorain conservatory has a bay front; either three- or five-sided, creating a rounded effect. On the other hand, the Edwardian design has a standard rectangular shape. Depending on your personal preference, it’s up to you which style would better suit you and your home. You may prefer the curved aesthetic of the Victorian design, or perhaps you want to take advantage of the increased square footage of the Edwardian.

Can I have decorative glass in my conservatory?

We allow our customers to have creative freedom over their conservatory design, as we want to create something that you’ll love. We offer an impressive variety of decorative glass for you to choose from, ranging from coloured, leaded or textured designs. If you’re looking for some inspiration, check out our brochure to get a feel for what colours or style you would like. Whether you’re looking for a classic design to maintain your home’s traditional charm, or if you want something more ornate to make a statement, there will be something for everyone. Textured glass can let you have more privacy in your conservatory without stopping the light getting in, which is a good solution if your conservatory is overlooked by multiple properties. Contact us today to find out more about the decorative glass we offer.

Are Edwardian conservatories practical?

Edwardian conservatories are both practical and stylish. Due to their square or rectangular design, you’re able to take advantage of the maximum amount of square footage possible. With a Victorian conservatory, you would have to worry about getting furniture that fits within the bay section, but Edwardian conservatories’ traditional shape makes them a lot easier to furnish. Their pitched roof is also easy to maintain, as any fallen leaves or excess debris gets washed away in the rain. Contact us today to find out more!
