What do Georgian windows look like?
Georgian windows are defined by their iconic style where each pane of glass is divided into six or more sections with glazing bars. This design can be recognised across numerous homes in Britain and this form of decorative glass is both a classy and elegant way of enhancing your home’s visual appeal.
At Britannia, we give you the creative freedom to decide on how to separate the glass. You can also choose from the traditional raised glazing bars or bars inside the glazing, which make the windows easier to clean. Get in touch with an advisor today to find out more.
Is decorated glass hard to clean?
It depends on the type of decorative glass you choose for your home. If you want a grid design with raised panels, then dust may collect more easily and require more regular wipe downs. If you’re looking for something more practical, then opt for our internal Georgian bars that will give you the look of divided panels while being easier to clean.
Bevelled and coloured glass requires the same maintenance as any other glass; simply spray with window cleaner and wipe down with a clean cloth to maintain that ‘new window’ feeling all year round.
What is bevelled glass?
Bevelled glass is a pane of glass that has had its edges cut at a specific angle that goes around the frame. It is a traditional way to add a decorative touch to your window and the angled edge can either be left textured or polished to be clear, depending on your personal taste.
Bevelled glass is a popular choice for enhancing your front door, as they add a decorative element without compromising on the amount of light able to come through the window. Bevelling can also be paired with any of our other decorative glass options for a more intricate and stylistic design.
What grid designs are available?
At Britannia, we want you to have the windows of your dreams and pride ourselves in being able to offer a wide range of different grid designs for you to choose from. Everyone‘s personality and style is different, so whether you’re looking for a classic square or diamond grid style or grids that are more intricate, we will help you make your decorative glass dream a reality.
We can also help you decide whether you want to embellish your grid design with our other decorative glass options like coloured or textured glass, without compromising on security or performance.
