Bifold doors will transform your living space and are custom-built to your specific measurements. In comparison to sliding patio doors, bifold doors are the better choice if you are working with a smaller space as they open all the way, as opposed to leaving one glass panel that is fixed. Choose from an impressive range of finishes, so that you can ensure your new bifold doors complement your home perfectly.

Will bifold doors add value to my house?
Bifold doors will add value to your home in a number of different ways. If you have a beautiful garden that you would like to admire from your home, then installing bifold doors allows you to create this seamless transition between your outer and inner space. They will also create the illusion of extra space, as they will allow more light to flood into your property. This is particularly fabulous during the summer months, as you will have unobstructed views of the world outside and greater ventilation in your home. Bifold doors are an attractive feature, adding a touch of class and elegance to your home which will appeal to any potential buyer. Bifold doors are also secure, energy efficient and can be a real statement piece in your property. Contact us today to find out more.
Are bifold doors better for large or small spaces?
They can work equally well in both! For larger spaces, when the bifolding doors are fully open your living room will be opened up to your garden. This allows more natural light to flood into your home and during the summer months, maximises on the ventilation within your property. A benefit of bifolding doors is that when they are completely open, the doors stack neatly away. This means they are practical for smaller spaces as they don’t cause any obstructions, as opposed to a more conventional inward-opening door.
How long does it take to install bifold doors?
Once your bifold doors have been custom built to your specific measurements in our workshop, they can be installed in a day by our expert engineers. The manufacturing process can take around six weeks. Our engineers will check and test your bifold doors to ensure they match your requirements exactly and that they function perfectly before leaving our state-of-the-art factory.
If you want to find out more information on the manufacturing and installation process for our products here at Britannia, get in touch with an advisor today or have a look at our Customer Stories page.
How do bifold doors work?
Bifold doors are designed using multiple glass doors that, when closed, make up a large glass wall overlooking your stunning surroundings. When open, they create unobstructed views as the doors separate, following the tracks they are installed on, and fold back on themselves in a concertina style. This creates an entrance into your garden or outside space and as the bifolding doors stack neatly out of the way there are no obstructions. Talk to one of our experts today to find out more and for a free, no obligation quote.
Do the doors stack inside or outside the frame?
It’s up to you! You can decide whether or not you’d like your new bifolding doors to stack inside your home or outside. If you have plant pots and garden furniture that would obstruct your panels if stacked outside, then opt for inside. Inside stacking doors work well if you have a larger indoor space, but for those with a smaller room it may be better to go with outside stacking. This way you won’t have to keep space clear for the doors to move in. If you would like to talk to an advisor about which option would better suit you and your home, get in contact today or visit our local showroom.
